Hi, I’m Dyniecia Barnes.

This trend of sharing what I've learned to make my dreams a reality to help others sparked a passion for education. In 2018 I launch Dyniecia Barnes Consulting and Professional Services to work with other people who like myself, wanted to become their own boss or simply wanted to turn their side hustle into a legitimate business. Whether in preparation for "Quit Day" or to supplement their income they all wanted the same thing, a business of their own. A clear path to turning their passions into revenue streams.
I love helping others realize their dream. I love helping others do for themselves what they thought would be impossible for them to do or realizing they can do NOW what they thought would forever be lost in the realm of "one day". While I’m thrilled with what I’ve managed to accomplish, I’ll admit that starting my first business was a real struggle at first.
In the beginning, I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t have anybody I could ask.
I lost so much time to scouring the internet answers, I tried out dated marketing strategies, I was so afraid of failing that I was reluctant to take even small risks to grow my business. I didn't trust marketing sale reps calling my business with their inflated promises what they would do to drive traffic through my doors. I was also experiencing extreme hardships like a seriously ill mother, a failing marriage that ultimately ended in divorce, and I was starting a new business from the ground up with a toddler and another child preparing for college. I felt like my world was caving in and thought closing my business and getting a J.O.B was my only option for salvation. One day I was jolted out of my despair. A good friend asked me a simple question, "have you done EVERYTHING you can possibly do to save your business?" As I was about to say "Of course I have!" something grabbed my tongue and closed my throat. It was the voice in side my head and said "NO YOU HAVE NOT!". I thought about all of the things I had not tried. All of the things I was afraid to do because of my fear of failing. I had an extreme fear of public speaking that prevented me from going live, getting on camera, or even doing voice overs. I didn't think strangers that I would have to introduce myself and business to would care to give me a moment of their time. I didn't think I was good enough to ask for what I wanted to be paid for my work. I didn't think I knew enough to teach others what I had learned. And how could I with all that had gone wrong in my life. My imposter syndrome was having field day with my mind. When took an inventory of all that I HAD NOT done to ensure the success of my business, I told him "no, no I haven't". After that conversation I made it point to find out what I needed to know and to do everything that I needed to do to make my business work. I created mini plans, set goals, and sought the people and resources I needed to make positive change and progress in my business.
Yet even after all that research, I still made a lot of expensive mistakes along the way … costing me lots of time and money, while causing me plenty of headaches.
The good news is that I learned from those mistakes and today, I have how to start a business down to a science.
